Dungeon Puzzle Sweeper
This is a remake of the launch version of Dragonsweeper. I loved the game so much but wished it worked better on my phone so I prototyped a version in my own engine as a side project.
In order to defeat the dragon you must carefully study the board and learn the rules. Try for a full clear!
Changes from the original game:
- Performance and reliability improvements to board generation
- Aspect ratio optimized for portrait mobile use
- Tap-hold for a touch-based marking menu
- New art, characters, music, and SFX
- Online leaderboards for Any% and 100% clear times
- Game auto-saves between runs to browser file storage
- "Misclick Protection" option to prevent clicking on something that you know will kill you
I hope you enjoy this version, it was a very fun project!
All code and assets are my own, with credit owed to Daniel Benmergui for the original design. Be sure to check out his other projects!
If you'd like to play offline, the game is also available on my website: https://brianna.town/sweeper
From there, you can "Add to Home Screen" and install the PWA to play offline!

congratulations!! ๐
This is great, but hideously addictive!
i wanna play this all day and night!!!! i played for hours already!!!
This game is the shit, i'm addicted :3
Thanks :D
this is so peak figuring out the rules to consistently board clear is so satisfying!!!
great twiston a classic. took me a minute to fully understand all thats going on but i loved it. i feel like this could be greatly expanded on and i hope you do. it was a really great time.
I love classic minesweeper so I really liked this twist with added difficulty. Took me a few tries to understand how I wanted to play, and had a lot of fun on my way to a win. Definitely feel like this could be expanded into a more complicated, strategy intense, and repayable game. Absolutely something I'd have on my phone and play on the bus, plane, etc. also fuck ice
very cool game!!! I got my first win, it was lots of fun. A mix of luck, planning and strategy, loved it
Minesweeper with magic? Sign me up! This was so much fun and I literally could spend hours playing it
Took a few tries to figure out what I was doing, but each attempt the game made more and more sense until I started to actually figure out some strategy to opening the board and calculating where the heals are likely to be by adding up the total monster levels and hints. A very cool take on minesweeper with a lot of depth to it.
Hi there, nice game but i'm not sure about some things:
Great game, thanks you!
From what I can tell, smoke just makes the game harder by hiding numbers. But I think it's always a little close to fire.
The scroll is a magic spell and I noticed 3 effects so far. Shows you level 1 monsters, puts out fires and let's you collect XP from them, and shows a couple of random monsters.
Rocks are just a gamble. Sometimes they give 3 XP for 1 or 2 taps, sometimes they give 1 XP for 3 or 4 taps. I like to tap them before hitting level up if I have health to spare and no monster to kill with that health.
This is all from like an hour of playing so it might not be super accurate
hi there and thanks! I've undestood something more: the smoke is caused by a 5hp monster which is at the center of a "star" of smoke. When you uncover enougth tiles around the smoke, you can guess where the monster is and dispel the smoke.
The smoke appears in a certain pattern around one specific enemy-type. (Defeat the enemy at the center and the smoke clears)
The scroll uncovers all of one enemy-type. There can be multiple.
Rocks take an unknowable number of hits (1-3 I think) and give as much XP.
Very addictive. Nice work!
absolutely love this! Thanks for a new spin on one of my favourite itch.io games
Definitely would love to know how the smoke works, lol
there are two 5 point smoke sorcerers that drop a scroll which removes their smoke (it hides the number on that tile)
way harder than dragon sweeper.
Been having a lot of fun with this! Really satisfying to figure out how the various enemies work and come up with strategies for going fast
congrats on your amazing times!!!
wow, this rules! very addictive
This is a lot of fun. Satisfyingly clicky casual gameplay, but enough depth to tickle the brain and make progress feel rewarding and well earned.
Great game (but I don't understand how the smoke works). Your rocks are less obviously breakable than Daniel's walls; maybe consider making the art there a little more differentiated.
i do not consider myself a Math Girlie but i had a whale of a time with this game!! it scratched a great itch in my brain for logic puzzling. thanks for sharing!!
I'm so glad!!! Thank you for playing! ๐
